about us

The Nest is a publication and the very first project of the Association of Barangay Magallanes Business Stakeholders’ Inc. (ABMSI),an NGO (non-government organization) founded and duly registered wit the SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) comprised of the business and commercial stakeholders and establishments within Barangay Magallanes. This is in keeping with Makati City regulations and is under the umbrella body called the Makati Barangay Business Council which is chaired by the Mayor herself, the Honorable Abigail Binay. This was an initiative I undertook as a Kagawad of Barangay Magallanes and Chairman of its Finance Committee. I have already resigned from this position but am now the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of ABMSI.

The existence of ABMSI in our community is especially relevant because of the presence of business areas such as the Paseo de Magallanes commercial strip as well as the entirety of Pasong Tamo (Don Chino Roces) extension, which not too many people know is part of our barangay. On this street, we have many buildings within which are offices, and other properties of various businesses and service companies. There are also the Alphaland mall, and other retail centers like Karrivin Plaza.

What is notable in our community is the presence of numerous restaurants, art galleries, event places, a hotel, and high-end design-oriented stores and lifestyle outlets such as flower shops and delis. These all add a unique character, charm, and viable

competitive advantage which provide a basis for the future of this area to become a prime business, leisure and tourism hub within the city.

It is in this spirit that ABMSI has embarked on the creation and launch of this lifestyle magazine as the best way to showcase these various business stakeholders in Barangay Magallanes and provide a highly visible media platform to stimulate networking, spur commercial activity and to reach as many markets as possible towards maximizing the community’s economic growth and development.

Finally, it is also hoped that The Nest will be a catalyst for other initiatives and projects and strategic courses of action which will further enhance the progress and quality of life within our community and firmly secure its future potential to become one of the best places to live and work in, not just in Makati City, but in the rest of the country!
